Dr. Robert J. Karl

Dr. Karl began his career founding, growing and leading a primary care group called “Nevada Family Care.” After 10 years, he moved across the country to join Family Physicians of Spartanburg in 2015. Due to family circumstances in 2022, they found themselves moving back west. Over a year later, the Lord found him, his family, and now his extended family back home in South Carolina. Providentially, he was able to rejoin Family Physicians of Spartanburg at the end of 2023.

Dr. Karl received his undergraduate and medical education from Wayne State University in Detroit, Mi. His extensive experience includes positions as chief operating officer for a medical group, medical director for a medical group and wound healing center, and adjunct faculty at multiple medical schools. But his most important experience is in the 20+ years of patient service, helping people to gain long-term good health by means of preventative medicine and timely diagnosis.

His specific areas of interest are prevention, cardiovascular disease, lipid disorders, diabetes and hypertension. His passions include following Jesus, technology, his family and travel.

Special Note from Dr. Karl to all who were his patients prior to 2023

Dear Friends,
When I left Family Physicians of Spartanburg in 2022 to move west for family, I never dreamed that I would ever get to return to South Carolina, let alone this wonderful practice! As part of that transition, I ethically and legally committed not to resume care of any of my former patient population. This is typical within medicine and the same commitment was made to me when I arrived in 2015, and again as I take over another patient population in 2023. Obviously, because of my return, this is emotionally hard on both me and many of you. Please accept my regrets for putting you in such a position and heartfelt thanks to all of you who trusted me.

That said, I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Eric Cole and his team to direct your care! As I have grown to know him more, I am even more convinced that he is exactly the kind of wonderful physician that I desire for my own family and I am excited to practice beside him! Please continue to place your trust in him as you did me!

Tiffany Nobles, Nurse Practitioner, APRN began working with Family Physicians of Spartanburg in 2023. Tiffany worked for eight years as a Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) prior to obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing in 2014. Prior to joining FPS, she worked in a rural health clinic for 9 years.

Tiffany enjoys an active life outside of work with tennis and hiking and loves to travel.
