Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasounds

Family Physicians of Spartanburg ultrasound services, certified by the American College of Radiology, are used in assessing, diagnosing, screening and determining medical disorders, treatment options and medical procedure for patients in our office facility. We are able to perform onsite at the point-of-care abdominal aortic ultrasounds (AAA ultrasound).

About Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms

Vascular ultrasound is the general term for a non-invasive painless test that uses high-frequency sound waves to image blood vessels including arteries and veins.

About Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasounds We Perform

An abdominal ultrasound is a non-invasive painless test to image the “aorta” the main blood vessel leading away from the heart. The AAA ultrasound can also be used to check for other diseases that affect your kidneys, liver, gallbladder and pancreas.

If your provider suspects that you have an aortic aneurysm, specialized tests such as the abdominal ultrasound, computerized tomography (CT) scan, or a magnetic resonance image (MRI) can help to confirm and diagnose.
